Have your Apple and TV it

AppleCoreLLC is probably the best thing I’ve found for my AppleTV since I got the thing. It allows you to stream from your Apple Time Machine, and even stream your DVD’s from your PC through your AppleTV. Be warned though that it is not entirely compatible with the new 2.1 software, but you can join the Beta programme and it works fine for me so far.

The great thing is that there is no way you can break your AppleTV in any way – you can always “factory reset”. You need a Mac to make the patch stick, and a USB drive to put the patch on.

Some of the cool features included are:

• Using your apple TV over FTP
• Streaming all kinds of videos (DivX etc) from a network share
• Surfing the web
• Downloading movies from Yaman (that is legal by the way)
• Having SSH access to your AppleTV (install away)

Living Star Trek style

This must be the strangest appartment I’ve ever seen! One guy made up his entire appartment to resemble the bridge, galley, and transporter rooms of Voyager (or just any Federation ship for that matter). And though it looks absolutely like the real thing – I doubt it will work in SA unless you have a huge generator to drive  all the consoles.
